- Precondition/ soften your paste before placing it in the extruder tube
- Always condition your flower-paste/ gum-paste with some fat before extruding
- It helps to soften the paste with a little water so that the effort required to extrude is minimal
- Store the extruded noodles in a box with a damp tissue to create a moist environment and keep the paste fresh (the noodles should however not touch the damp tissue)
- You can apply a bit of water to the noodle using a brush to aid the paste to adhere to the floral wire (you can skip this step if your paste is moist)
- Always clean your tool before storing it
